In the downtown area of Tianjin there is a lovely Central Park which is a nice place for a quick or late decided day out. The Central Park is a lovely place to go and relax for a few hours.
However due to its location (being close to the city), it can become busy at times with many coaches stopping and dropping tour groups off at the gardens (it’s also a stopping point on the routes of many city buses, and a match-making location on the weekends). With a great selection of flowers and trees which give a lovely and well needed shading in the summer sun, Central Park is the perfect way to rest, relax and recharge those batteries. Central Park doesn’t offer too much for kids, so you may want to bring something with you to keep them entertained. However, there is plenty of space for them to go running around and let out some of that energy. If you’re not in a rush you can pop round the corner to visit the China House, a famous landmark and museum in Tianjin. This is an open public park for everyone, and during the Summer the government turns on the fountains. Unfortunately we don’t have any times as to when they do this, as the current time listings seem to be out of date on the Tianjin Tourist Board. During the summer, on some evenings (not during the day) the water fountains are turned on.
- Name: 中心文化广场 Address: Hu Yuan Lu, He Ping District Road: 和平区花园路 If you walk to the end of HePing Lu (don’t turn right to go down Bin Jiang Dao) the park is at the end of the street. There is a smaller road in front of you, a little on your right. If you walk down this road, within 1 minute you will see a lot of green grass and flowers.
